JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
MEETINGS
● Meet monthly with Operation Manager for update on the recipient animal husbandry training
● Meet monthly with Operation Manager for update on the Leadership training
● Meet with the Livestock and Agriculture officer on a monthly basis and ensure animal health care training occurs.
● Meet with the field officer to schedule leadership training and ensure training occurs as scheduled.
● Meet weekly with the Livestock Officer to review progress with family animal husbandry, record keeping and with training.
● Schedule meetings with Livestock Specialist and Livestock Officers monthly, and quarterly to discuss progress of recipients training and performance and submit reports of these meetings to the Operation Manager
TEACHING
● Teach families on Health and Environment training
● Teach families on Entrepreneurship training by using Chalmers Curriculum
● Teach families about savings using Chalmers Curriculum
● Teach families about Leadership
● Teach Farming Foundations curriculum
● Teach Discipleship for Development and Appreciative Inquiry
● Teach families what the Bible says about development, relationships, and leadership and how that relates to their lives and how it can be carried out
● Assist with training using Heifer Raising Goats for Milk and Meat curriculum including record keeping for milk production, breeding, health and vet care
● Teach families how to keep proper records for their goats and meet regularly with families to assess record keeping and provide 1x1 training as needed.
● Teach families the 16 Points of a Healthy Home
● Assist/Teach families about how to write a Goal Plan and set goals
● Plan, organize and facilitate new recipient training and project leader training as scheduled
● Prepare training syllabus before every training and maintain soft copy in FFHC training file for future use
● Coordinate with experts for specific training topics
● In collaboration with other experts, create training content for FFHC topics
● Facilitate new recipient training and project leader training as scheduled
● Responsible for ensuring all families, site leaders, village and church leaders, and Departments are informed of training dates
● Responsible to supervise Health and Environment & Entrepreneurship Department roles
● Coordinate additional training topics as requested
● Ensure new recipient 1st and 2nd trainings occur at least twice per year, more frequently if needed to meet the need based on applications.
● Ensure goat husbandry training for all recipients occurs at least quarterly in every site
● Input goat records in FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN goat database and family records in family database
● Manage annual training calendar for all FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN training topics
● Maintain a valid driver’s license. If you do not have a valid driver’s license, you must obtain one within 3 months of employment
● Perform other duties as assigned
FAMILY VISITING
Meet with families at least 2 times per quarter to assess if they are applying what they have learned, based on the needs of the family. Some may need more frequent visits.
Assessments
● Assess progress of the Assignment after the training
● Evaluate training participant knowledge before and at the end of training using quizzes and other evaluation methods
● Encourage families in progress towards goals or overcoming challenges
● Assess for underlying issues that they are not talking about, or may not be aware of
● Use appreciative inquiry to talk about what you see going well and what might need to be addressed or isn’t going well.
● Complete case notes for every visit or attempted visit with a family.
DOCUMENTATION
File Maintenance
● Maintain separate file for every Training in caseload including Training participants lists, Topics and Contract
● Complete case notes for every visit or attempted visit with a family.
● Ensure all records are kept according to activity done in a specific folder and that records are entered into FFHC database in a timely manner.
● Ensure participant records and files are kept up to date and program data for assigned sites is accurate.
Data entry for database
● Maintain up to date and accurate records of every training on caseload in the database
● Verify names are correct in our system and set up one standard name to use for husband and for wife. Use only one name for the database family name and use it consistently.
IMPLEMENT DISCIPLESHIP FOR DEVELOPMENT PRINCIPLES
● Provide individual teaching of D4D principles and Biblical values to help individuals grow in their relationship with Jesus and to understand who they were created to be and how their role fits with the rest of their family and community.
● Demonstrate Christ-like behavior in all areas of life in order to be a role model for others.
● Train families on all topics using Biblical Scripture and values to supplement the training topics
● Teach about restoring relationships between God, self, others and the rest of creation
● Teach other D4D Topics that are in Training Manual.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Diploma and or Bachelor Degree in education, business or related field
• Two (2) years’ previous experience as a trainer, corporate training specialist, or related position
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and instructional software
• Experience with technologies and best practices for instructional manuals and teaching platforms
• Strict adherence to organizational philosophy, mission and vision statement
• Strong project management skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects
• Good interpersonal skills and communication with all levels of management
• Organized and able to create multiple timelines, budgets, and schedules
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Excellent leadership, team building, and management skills
• Encouraging to team and staff; able to mentor and lead
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solution
• Knowledge of Instrumental designs (picture)
• Ability to interact and teach lessons to both kids and adults
