Winrock International (http://www.winrock.org), a US-based international non-profit organization. is a sub-contractor on the USAID funded Water Resources Integration Development Initiative (WARIDI). Winrock International is recruiting for a THREE (3) ENGINEERS based in Morogoro. Iringa and Ifakara. Tanzania. All applicants should be Tanzanian citizens and be fluent in Swahili and English. JOB DETAILS:
Water Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Water Engineer will join a team to design. supervise. and monitor the construction of rural and peri-urban water schemes across multiple districts. One Position will be based in a project office in Iringa and one in Ifakara with frequent travel to construction sites. Will directly supervise on-site quality control managers (engineering interns) who are based 24/7 at construction sites, will work closely with local government authorities and Community Owned Water Supply Organizations (COWSOs) to coordinate implementation of activities.
Education: Relevant graduate degree in engineering. hydrology or related field.

Experience:

• Must be a registered graduate or professional engineer with a minimum 4 years’ experience working in the water sector, especially rural water supply:
• Must have demonstrated experience designing water supply systems (pumped and gravity) including preparing drawings and BOQs:
• Must have experience managing contracts and supervising contractors on-site;
• Must have strong management and organizational skills.
