The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria gold fields of North Western Tanzania. only about 85 km's from Mwanza City. The company has its head office in Geita. only 5 Km's west of the fast growing town of Geita. and also a supporting office in Dar es Salaam.

GGML is currently transitioning its open cast operations to Underground Mining as part of initiatives to extend life of the Mine thereby sustaining employment opportunities to the suitably qualified Tanzanian nationals. Qualifications:

• Completion of Secondary School Education.
  
• Understands and speaks English
  
• First Ad Certificate is desirable.
  
• Working at Heights Certificate is desirable.
  

Experience:

• A considerable drilling experience in underground or surface mining environment
  
• Previous experience in labor intensive/ physical role
  

Purpose of the role:
To provide support to the jumbo Operator in all aspects in the day to day operation of the drilling

Main or Key accountabilities

• Conduct pre-surt checks of light vehicles, and assist the driller with rig checks
  
• Conduct down hole equipment checks throughout the shift
  
• Maintain trailer stock levels ensuring that the supervisor is kept up-to-date with incomings and outgoings.
  
• Housekeeping of all equipment ensuring it is of fee highest or standards with cleanliness to at work Spaces a priority
  
• Ensure practices are followed to enable the site to remain free of hazards.
  
• Identify potential hazards and communicate immediately to the driller or supervisor
  

Additional requirements;

• First aid knowledge
  
• Ability to maintain high standards of house keeping within the mine
  
• Ability to recognize potential mining hazards and risks
  
• Ability to listen and rake instructions and work in a team
  
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
