Expression of Interest for Supply of Open Pit Mining Contract Services for the Nyanzaga Gold Project tenders at Sotta Mining Corporation Limited (Sotta)

Sotta Mining Corporation Limited (Sotta) is a Tanzanian incorporated joint venture company, 84% owned by Perseus Mining Limited (Perseus) and 16% by the Government of Tanzania. Sotta is developing the Nyanzaga Gold Project, located in the southern area of the Lake Victoria Gold Fields in north-western Tanzania, approximately 60 km southwest of Mwanza in the Sengerema District within the Mwanza Region.

Sotta is in the process of developing the project, which includes the design and build of a gold processing plant, open pit mine, and associated infrastructure. As part of this project, Sotta is seeking Expression of Interest (EOI) for the supply of Open Pit Mining Contract Services under EOI reference EOI/NGP/092.

Scope of Work

Expression of Interest Compliance Criteria
Interested companies are invited to submit an Expression of Interest addressing the following compliance criteria:
a) Detailed company information, including ownership (provide shareholder %), organizational structure, and details of any Tanzanian operating entity. Provide evidence of local content compliance with the Tanzania Mining Commission or verification of eligibility to apply.

b) Confirmation of the entity’s ability and commitment to establish an entity that is local content compliant in accordance with the Tanzanian Mining Act, Mining (Local Content) Regulations 2018, and any subsequent amendments.

c) Evidence of capability to perform the scope of work for a major operation of similar size and nature to Nyanzaga Gold Project, including:
i. Proven history of safe operation in a large-scale (>40Mtpa) open-pit mining operation in Africa.
ii. Demonstrated ability to fund and source equipment capable of mining ~50Mt per annum.
iii. Demonstrated access to experienced personnel capable of managing, maintaining, and operating an equipment fleet capable of a 50Mt per annum scale.
iv. Ability to mobilize and commence operations and ramp up within 6 months of contract award.

d) Details of current services being performed as well as evidence of successful delivery of similar scope of services over the last 10 years, including:
i. Name of the project and client.
ii. Brief scope of services.
iii. Value of services (indicate applicable currency).
iv. Commencement and completion dates.
v. Contact details of a minimum of three (3) references for each project.

e) A copy of the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policy, sample HSE Management Plan, and HSE statistics for the last 3 years, including the company’s lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) and medically treated injury frequency rate (MTIFR).

f) A copy of the company’s sample Quality Management Plan, including a copy of valid ISO 9001:2015 accreditation.

g) Details and experience (submit a copy of Curriculum Vitae) of key personnel (Project Manager, Project Coordinators) proposed for involvement in the scope of services.

h) A copy of audited financial reports to verify the company’s financial capacity to deliver the scope of work.

Late submissions will not be considered.

Evaluation: Expression of Interest submissions will be evaluated based on the information submitted in relation to the Expression of Interest Compliance Criteria.
