Job Summary:
The Logistics Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient coordination and execution of logistics activities, including trip planning, driver scheduling, and delivery oversight. They will maintain communication with clients, drivers, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Trip Planning and Scheduling
◦Develop and oversee daily and weekly trip schedules for the fleet.
◦Coordinate container loading and offloading at ICDs and client locations.
◦Allocate trucks and trailers based on capacity and client requirements.

2. Driver Coordination
◦Assign drivers to trips, ensuring compliance with rest and driving hour regulations.
◦Maintain regular communication with drivers during trips to address any issues or delays.
◦Monitor driver performance and adherence to safety and operational guidelines.

3. Client Communication
◦Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries related to logistics and delivery schedules.
◦Address client concerns, provide status updates, and ensure timely service delivery.
◦Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance satisfaction and retention.

4. Documentation and Reporting
◦Maintain accurate records of trips, deliveries, and delays.
◦Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports to the MD
◦Ensure all trip-related documentation (e.g., delivery notes, fuel usage records) is correctly filed.
5. Fleet Monitoring
◦Monitor truck movements via GPS tracking systems to ensure efficiency and timely delivery.
◦Work with the Workshop team to schedule preventive maintenance and minimize vehicle downtime.

6. Process Improvement
◦Identify bottlenecks in logistics processes and recommend improvements.
◦Assist in implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for logistics operations.

7. Compliance and Safety
◦Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies, local regulations, and safety standards.
◦Work with the Operations Manager (if applicable) to address any compliance issues.

Qualifications and Skills
◦Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
◦2-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a similar role.
◦Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
◦Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and drivers.
◦Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and logistics management software.
◦Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Working Conditions
◦ Primarily office-based with occasional visits to ICDs, client sites, or the workshop.
◦ Must be available to address urgent operational issues outside regular working hours.
