JOB DETAILS:
Responsibilities;
• Operations Oversight: Ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the mining plant, including overseeing extraction processes, equipment and production targets. This includes managing workflow, personnel and maintaining plant efficiency.
• Staff Supervision and Development: Manage and lead plant personnel, including recruiting, training and developing staff.
• Budget and Resource Management: Monitor and manage the plant’s budget, including controlling costs, managing resources and ensuring the efficient use of raw materials, energy and other inputs.
• Production Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor production data, performance metrics and overall output to ensure targets are met. Prepare detailed reports for senior management regarding plant performance, issues, and progress.
• Crisis and Risk Management, Safety and Compliance: Identify potential risks, both operational and environmental and develop contingency plans.
• Procurement and Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement of raw materials, equipment and spare parts. Ensure that adequate inventory levels are maintained and that purchasing processes are cost-efficient.
• Maintenance and Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and plant infrastructure to minimize downtime and maintain high levels of productivity.
A mining professional with below qualifications;
• At least 10 years of experience in mining and exploration or gold processing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Identify and assess new mining opportunities, providing actionable insights to management.
• Solid knowledge of gold processing techniques and equipment.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and prioritize cost-effective solutions.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to handle PR responsibilities.
• Excellent problem solving & decision-making abilities
Preferred Attributes:
• Experience working in Tanzania or similar regions.
• Familiarity with local regulatory frameworks and community dynamics.
• Fluency in Swahili is an added advantage.
