JOB DETAILS:
Primary Functions:
• Carry out certification and verification of welding works as per agreed scheme and in accordance with specified requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Participate in the writing of Verification & Certification Activity Reports (VCARS).
• Perform site surveillance to certify and verify the quality control of welding works.
• Conduct audit activities such as opening and closing meetings with the QC manager and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit inspection reports after each site visit as per required standards.
• Communicate findings promptly and carry out follow-up activities to ensure effective closure.
• Review and approve all related procedures, reports, and records within the pipeline.
• Periodically witness and document material receipt and verification at the fabrication shop yard or installation site.
• Conduct occasional surveillance on the piping fabrication, installation, and repair processes to ensure compliance with design drawings and specifications.
• Verify the performance compliance of welding activities to project procedures and standards.
• Review regular inspection reports of welding processes and completed welds for compliance.
• Review and verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and records.
• Occasionally witness and verify non-destructive testing (NDT) activities and reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
• Document and report any welding defects or non-conformities.
• Verify the quality and traceability of welding materials and consumables.
Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• At least 10 years of experience in welding projects.
• At least 3 years of similar working experience would be an added advantage.
• IWE/CWI certificate or equivalent
• Minimum ASNT II certificate or equivalent
• Knowledge of the Certification scheme.
• Familiar with QA&QC for oil field site construction projects
• Fully conversant with relevant inspection techniques and able to select most appropriate technique
• Good knowledge of international code, standard and regulation, such as ASME, API, etc.
• Good health is required
• Good knowledge of CAD and reading technical drawings
• Good at using micro-office software and project tools.
