JOB DETAILS:
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage the conservation of fishery resources and its environment;
• Design various methods and strategies to control and prevent illegal fishing in accordance with the Fisheries Act and its Regulations;
• Coordinate and supervise work at the Fisheries Patrol Center;
• Managing maritime, land and air patrols in the inland waters and the entire Economic Exclusive zone (EEZ) as well as border areas and airports;
• Develop sustainable harvesting of fish and other marine life, lakes, rivers, dams and lakes;
• Provide expert advice on good fishing;
• Doing activities related to community participation issues in fishing development activities;
• Issuing fishing licenses;
• To operate Fisheries Observers in fishing vessels;
• Conducting fishing professional training;
• Managing the collection of fishing data as well as revenue;
• Coordinate fishing research activities;
• Provide advice and training to the community on the development and sustainable use of fishery resources; and
• To perform such other functions as may be assigned to him by the head of the Unit relating to his profession.

Qualification and Experience
• Employed with a Bachelor Degree in Fisheries Science from the University of Dar es Salaam or from any Government recognized college.
