JOB DETAILS:

Hydrologist Level II – (Hydrologist II) POSITION 16

Duties and Responsibilities Of Hydrology Level Ii
• Supervise the construction and repair of weather stations and stations for measuring the quantity of water in rivers, dams and lakes;
• Perform data verification (validation activities) during data processing;
• Prepare plans and other diagrams of observation networks (observation networks) of hydrology and meteorology;
• Preparing plans, designing, managing construction activities in observation centers (observation networks);
• Managing the hydrological investigation of the relationship between water depth and water quantity (stage - discharge observations);
• Making maps of water catchments in water basins using the
• Geographical Information System (GIS); vii. Prepare maps that show areas affected by floods in the valleys and participate in giving advice on precautions;
• Reviewing the quality of all hydrological and meteorological data;
• Coordinating and conducting a preliminary survey of activities related to hydrological stations; and
• To do other work assigned by his superior.

Qualifications Of The Applicant
• He should have a Fourth Form (Form IV) or Sixth (Form VI) education who has completed a first degree in Hydrology or Water Resources Engineering from a college recognized by the Government and has computer skills.

SALARY LEVEL
- Based on the government salary levels – TGS E1

viii. Applicants who studied outside of Tanzania should ensure that their certificates have been verified and approved by the relevant authorities, the Tanzania Universities Commission (TCU), the National Examinations Council (NECTA) and the Tanzania Technical Education Council (NACTE).
ix. Applicants retired from the Public Service are not allowed to apply unless they have the approval of the Chief Secretary.
x. Job applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the public service should not apply and should follow the instructions contained in the Circular and CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated November 30, 2010.
