JOB DETAILS:
Duties and Responsibilities
• To control pests of crops and plants,
• To collect weekly and monthly crop price statistics.,
• Collecting data on availability of produce in markets every week/month,
• Conduct training for agricultural experts,
• Conduct quality checks and use of inputs and tools,
• Monitoring the trend of the commercial produce market,
• Conduct training on better soil and water conservation,
• Providing information on new technologies to stakeholders,
• Prepare/write implementation information for the small crop sector,
• Managing/developing the profession of producing vegetables, fruits, flowers and other crops,
• Managing/promoting the production of quality seeds,
• To prepare, prepare to pack and distribute good seeds,
• Conducting disease tests on seeds,
• Conducting inspection of new seeds in collaboration with seed researchers before adoption,
• Conduct training to produce vegetables, fruits, flowers and spices,
• To encourage the production of garden crops,
• To conduct a small study of suitable crops to be cultivated in the part of irrigation agriculture,
• Conducting soil research
• To encourage the establishment of groups of farmers/irrigators,
• Producing basic seeds after being produced by researchers; and
• Conducting/supervising experimental seed farms and laboratory testing to eliminate confusion about seeds.

Qualification and Experience
• Hiring those with a degree in Agriculture or a degree in Science who have established themselves in the field of agriculture from Sokoine University of Agriculture or other Universities recognized by the Government.
