JOB DETAILS:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborating with researchers to run experimental farms;
• To collect/store test data;
• To teach farmers methods of better farming;
• Communicating research results to farmers;
• To teach farmers the best methods of agriculture, the use of fertilizers and medicines, agricultural inputs;
• To collect and maintain crop and price statistics for the week, month, quarter and year at the Council level;
• Collecting rainfall statistics;
• Participating in agricultural surveys;
• Collaborate with farmer groups on problems and the right technologies to use;
• Plan production plans;
• Measuring seed germination and managing inspection procedures;
• To identify input suppliers;
• Providing nutrition training to farmers;
• Conduct quality, humidity and seed germination tests;
• To control pests of crops and plants;
• Supervising the daily activities of agricultural experiments;
• To educate farmers on the best use of soil and water;
• Giving advice on agroforestry;
• Prepare by-laws for environmental protection and;
• To provide professional production of vegetables, fruits, flowers and spices.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Recruiting graduates of Form IV or VI with a diploma in agriculture from colleges recognized by the Government.
