SOS Children’s Villages is looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and youth through internships and volunteer opportunities within its Children in Street Situation Project. Interns and Volunteers will support the implementation of street children intervention, directly contributing to the coordination, management, and execution of the Children in Street Situation (CiSS) project.

Position Title: Volunteer
Duty Stations: Dodoma (2 posts), Dar es Salaam (2 posts) and Mwanza (2 posts)
Direct Supervisor: Children in Street Situation) CiSS) Project Officer
Contract Duration: Six Months

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the implementation of project activities, following guidance from the Project Officer.
• Offer assistance to the project team and use the opportunity to learn about project management, budgeting, and reporting guidelines.
• Help compile project information for reports, communication materials, and monitoring processes, gaining exposure to data management practices.
• Participate in meetings with Districts Local Governments, Civil Society, and Private Sector Organizations, observing and learning how relationships are fostered and maintained.
• Provide support in the supervision of street children activities including rescues and reunifications.
• Assist in the organization and support of workshops, seminars, training activities, and coordination meetings for project partners, gaining exposure to event management.
• Participate in cross-district initiatives and national project assignments, observing and learning about strategic communication and knowledge sharing practices.
• Help provide monthly project updates to the Project Manager, gaining experience in reporting project progress and lessons learned.
• Assist in preparing basic budget and activity plans, as well as contributing to technical and financial reports under the guidance of senior team members.
• Support project monitoring and evaluation processes, data collection and analysis for project success.
• Provide assistance in related projects to gain exposure to different aspects of project implementation and strengthen skills through practical experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Abilities, and Behavioral Competences:
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, or a related field.
• Strong passion for working with Children and Youth.
• Fluency in Swahili; English proficiency is advantageous.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Sensitivity to local conditions, ethics, and norms, with a commitment to gender equality and children’s rights.
