The University of Dar es Salaam invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to be considered for immediate employment to fill the following academic vacant posts:
DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
1.46 Assistant Lecturer (Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry) – 1 post
1.46.1 Duties and Responsibilities
i. To carry out lectures, seminars, tutorials and practicals for undergraduate programmes;
ii. To set, invigilate and mark undergraduate examinations;
iii. To assist senior staff in lectures, seminars, tutorials and practicals for postgraduate programmes;
iv. To supervise projects and practical training for undergraduate students;
v. To conduct research and publish results;
vi. To carry out consultancy and public services;
vii. To undergo postgraduate training to PhD level;
viii. To participate in relevant workshops and conferences; and
ix. To perform any other relevant duties as assigned by one’s superior.
1.46.2 Qualification and Experience
Master of Science in Chemistry specialized in analytical or inorganic Chemistry or MSc. in Analytical Chemistry and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or BSc. In Petroleum Chemistry or BSc. with Education majoring in Chemistry or BSc. General Majoring in Chemistry or Any BSc. Majoring in Chemistry.
1.46.3 Remuneration
Salary Scale: PUTS 2.1

f. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
g. Presentation of forged certificates & other false information will result in automatic disqualification and legal action.
h. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interview.
i. Applicants must be citizens of Tanzania with an age not above 45 years Applicants for posts in IMS should be ready to permanently reside in Zanzibar
