Job Overview
The Business Development Manager would be directly responsible for the overall building of Aldelia’s market position in Tanzania by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships whilst achieving measurable financial growth for the company.

The person must have a thorough knowledge of the market, have the capacity to strategically plan and execute BD KPI’s. The person must have the ability to identify Aldelia’s untapped potentials and be able to develop unique selling propositions for the company in the marketplace. The person must be willing to network, pitch and convince potential clients to do business with the company. The person must possess reporting, business forecasting, presentation skills and can develop reports and work processes.

Responsibilities:
• To define long-term organizational business strategic goals, build customer relationships with existing clients, identify new business opportunities, negotiate, and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
• Carry out extensive market survey, mapping and provide detailed report on trends.
• Responsible to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue for the organization.
• Identify potential new customers, nurture them, and ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow the portfolio.
• Network, pitch and convince potential clients to do business with the company.
• Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
• Responsible to grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients.
• At the fore front of developing the pipeline of new business coming into the company, responsible to prospect potential new clients and turn them into paying clients.
• Participate in pricing, quotations for clients and prospects as well as being familiar with policies and regulation in industries of interest to Aldelia’s business.
• Attend industry functions, such as association events and chamber of commerce conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends
• Present to and consult with senior level management on business trends, potentials, pipeline, targets and forecast.
• Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet business targets.
• Work with the operations team to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a client’s vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner.

Person Specification
Preferred Experience and Education
• Bachelor’s degree qualified ideally in Social Sciences, Business Administration and Humanities. Membership of a relevant Professional body is desirable.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience.
• An MBA would be an added advantage.

Language Requirement
• English is required.

Skills
• Demonstrate high level of interpersonal, writing skills, presentation and effectively communicate skills.
• Must be familiar with Tanzania consulting environment.
• Must have high knowledge of excel reporting, forecasting, business tools usage and Microsoft office.
• Demonstrate high level of proficiency in pricing, quotation and proposal drafting
• Can identify, allocate and monitor resources effectively and efficiently.
• Can consistently meet competing demands through effective prioritising in a result oriented and client-focused environment.
• Impeccable negotiation skills and a calculative risk taker.
• Demonstrates emotional intelligence, leadership, and soft skills attributes.
• Networking, Persuasion, Prospecting, Public Speaking, Research, Writing, Closing Skills, Identification of Customer Needs and Challenges, Territory Management, Market Knowledge and Meeting Sales Goals.
• Good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to influence others about them.
• Experience in the use of CRM, and clients/candidates’ databases.
