JOB DETAILS:
We are a business conglomerate with diversified activities in the field of International logistics management, Fleet management, Warehousing. E-commerce, Insurance broking, and Farming. The company has its headquarters in Dar es salaam, Tanzania with branches in all major cities and international borders in the country. The companies also have international branches in Zambia Burundi and Kenya. As part of our expansion plans in logistics sector, we are looking for to recruit CHIEF OPERATIONS MANAGER in the head office, to man the operations department of our flag ship company.

This is a management position and typically the COM reports to the General Manager of the group.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The recruit is for a senior management position that will control the entire operations activities connected with clearing and forwarding services of imports and exports under all modes and verticals of transport declarations / customer service X client communication and all services required by the customer.
• To advice the management team on key operation planning issues and make strategic recommendation on important decisions.
  
• Set up operational and performance goals; ensure that all department heads and subordinates are fully informed of the objectives.
  
• Conduct regular department meeting; establish and monitor performance reporting system
  
• Ensure all operational activities comply with organization requirements for quality management, legal stipulation and general standards.
  
• Ensure quality control of all company outputs as pertain to customer acquisition and delivery of services.
  
• Any other areas of work as and when assigned by GM or board of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Should have 8-10 years of combined experience in logistics I freight forwarding / warehousing sectors with 3-5 years in relevant management position in Tanzania.
  
• University graduate in Business Administration, Logistics Management, and Freight forwarding field from any recognized academic institutions.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and non-verbal).
  
• Should be fluent in English and Swahili to liaise well with both clients and staff.
  
• Have a very good knowledge of Tanzania and East African business operating regulations.
  
• Should be capable enough to lead, direct and secure high-quality working result from 25 to 30 staff members in the team.
