Key Responsibilities:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILIITIES

Activity
Support APs teams on designing and implementation of R &L intervention (40%)
• Provide technical assistance on new AP assessment and design process
• Assist APMF in the selection of appropriate target populations to be the recipients of agricultural technical support.
• Review R and L documents from the APs including TOR to ensure sustainability and inclusion of RC families in the proposed activities
• Support implementation of Core Project Models ie BSL, S4T, EWV, LVCD, MF etc
• Work closely with APMF to build capacity of project facilitators on R and L CPMs
• Provide technical support on the implementation of PNS and grants including THRIVE2030 implemented in the respective cluster
• Support APs teams on preparation for donor and other visitors for Resilience and Livelihood
• Support integration activities for R and L TP and other TPs to enhance efficiency and synergy.

End Results
• Quality assurance of livelihood programming in cluster ensures that models and projects are implemented with fidelity
• Burn rate for R and L TP is according to the plan
• Number of staffs at the APs with competence in R and L key models
• Joint plans implemented by R and L and other TP Specialist at the cluster

Activity
Monitoring and Evaluation of Resilience and Livelihood Interventions (30%)
• Provide follow-up support through agricultural clinics for participants of R and L intervention.
• Visit target communities on a regular basis to learn with farmers on farming practices and experiences and continuously incorporate into the project planning such lessons.
• Support production of regular and timely progress reports regarding relevant project activities.
• Review and support quality data collection for Resilience and Livelihood for decision making
• Take lead on R and L DIQA exercises at the cluster level.
• Promote learning in the cluster including developing success stories and share in different platforms

End Results
• Quality R and L reports submission which include how RC families are benefiting from R and L intervention
• Updated quality data in the Kobo etc. including data for both APs and grants
• Number of success stories developed and shared in different platform

Activity
R and L visibility and stakeholders, partners engagement at the cluster and beyond (15%)
• Represent the cluster in economic development and sustainable livelihood meetings, workshops and conferences etc
• Facilitate APs/Cluster participation in key farmers exhibitions and commemorations as such as farmers trade show, etc
• Work with CM and VFT Business Centre Manager to ensure that WVT-VFT quarterly integration meetings are conducted

End Results
• Number of the external events farmers groups participated
• Number of stakeholder engagement conducted
• WVT-VFT cluster quarterly integration meeting conducted

Activity
Resource mobilization (15%)
• Work closely with the CM and TL to mobilize financial resource from the potential donors through designing and developing fundable livelihood projects and or programmes proposals.
• Support initial assessment to inform PNS and grant development.

End Results
• New PNS and grants developed.
• Quality and timely report submission to inform resource development.

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience
• At least five years’ experience working with agricultural production and development, preferably with a reputable NGO or Government programme or project.
• Demonstrated ability in the design and effective use of training materials. Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel extensively especially within the cluster area.
• Experience with Resilience and Livelihood Core Project Models such as Saving for Transformation, Local Value Chain Development etc. is critical.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification.
Must have a university degree in Agriculture, preferably agronomy, agricultural economics or natural resource management, Masters is added advantage.

Travel and/or Work Environment Requirement
• Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
• Travel: 15% Domestic/international travel is required.
• On call: 5%

Physical Requirements
• Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
• Perform other duties as required.

Fluent in both Swahili and English Languages
