JOB DETAILS:
The Trade Union Congress of Tanzania (TUCTA) is the only registered Trade Union Federation in Tanzania, with Registration No. FED 01. It was established in April 2001 and Registered in May 2001 under then Trade Union Act of 1998 and later updated its registration under the Employment and Labour Relations Act 2004. TUCTA is a national umbrella organization of thirteen sectoral based trade unions with total membership of around 650,000 by June 2016, whose main function is to coordinate and liaise the trade union movement in the country.

The organization is promoting the interests of workers through among many other ways including Promoting Social Dialogue and advocacy for Decent work in harmonizing labour relation at all levels. It also embraces the issue of building/strengthening organizational capacities in increasing and maintaining membership base.

Communications and Public Relations Officer (1 Position).

His Duties
• Gathering all the information about TUCTA and the participating parties.
• To open and operate TUCTA accounts on social networks.
• Taking photos and videos in various events of the institution.
• Editing photos, videos and content taken at institutional events.
• Manage and monitor the vitality of the institution's website.
• Collecting and maintaining various statistics of the institution's social networks.
• Preparing magazines, brochures and posters about the institution where necessary.
• To announce the institution (publicity) for every job done.
• To do other tasks assigned by the Secretary General of TUCTA or the Deputy Secretary General of TUCTA.

Characteristics
• Have at least a first degree in Journalism or an equivalent qualification from a university recognized by the government.
• Experience of at least two years in the Information and Awareness industry.
• Age not exceeding 35 years.
• Understanding of the use and operation of social networks and IT.
• Creativity in social media content including photography and video.
• Knowledge of Kiswahili and English.
• Understanding of the use of computers (computer skills).
