BASIC PURPOSE:
Ensuring that the bank’s credit portfolio maintains a sound health through ensuring compliance to bank’s credit governance, proper classification of the portfolio and capital allocation.
Prevention of financial loss through timely detection of poor-quality credits and following up on the remediation measures to restore the quality of portfolio.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Undertaking review of the portfolio and ensuring early detection of problem loans.
• Assuring appropriate classification of the portfolio and adequacy of the provisions
• Ascertain the adequacy of the underwriting controls and collateral management
• Undertaking various testing of the portfolio to ensure a sound health of the portfolio including stress testing, vintage analysis
• Preparing and communication of management reports for credit risk
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge
• Thorough understanding of the bank’s credit governance and processes.
• Thorough understanding of the Bank operations.
• Knowledge of Bank risks and their mitigation.
• Knowledge of BOT prudential guidelines.
• Thorough knowledge and clear understanding of Banks’ policies.
• Understanding of the key systems and processes.
• Computer proficiency especially use of MS Excel.
Skills
- Effective listening skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Problem solving skills
• Personal integrity with a high regard to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to be discrete.
• Excellent in time management.
Qualifications
• Business related degree from a recognized University.
• Professional Certification in Auditing, Accounting, Risk management and Information systems audit is an added advantage
Work Experience
• 1 year working experience in the Banking sector.
