As our Digital Editor (PPA), you will develop and deliver user-focused content on WaterAid’s global websites and social channels, creating high-quality, strategic material which supports our organisational priorities.
In this role, you will engage with and lead internal stakeholders from Policy and campaigns, programme support and country programme teams to plan and produce inspiring, engaging content to support our policy, practice and advocacy and communications goals.

You’ll also:
• Manage the day-to-day production and distribution of content on WaterAid’s global Twitter account and co-manage the global LinkedIn page with the Social Media Manger.
• Proactively identify the need for new content, working closely with the Digital Content Manager (PPA) and internal stakeholders to plan, design and develop content that engages online audiences, writing or commissioning new content as required.
• Collaborate with policy, practice and advocacy teams on developing audience-led digital content for global advocacy campaigns and moments.
• Manage the strategy and execution of digital content for key global conferences and events.
• Work closely with the Content Marketing Manager (Email) to develop and publish the WASH Matters newsletter.
• Be reactive to external trends and news, working with the media team to create digital content or both planned and unplanned media moments.

About You:
• A track record in, and passion for, digital communications and copywriting.
• Proven experience of writing and sub-editing copy for web, mobile, social media and email.
• Extensive editorial skills with an ability to translate technical information into consumable content packages.
• A solid understanding of SEO techniques, user experience and web accessibility.
• Experience of using social media, including a strategic understanding of best practice in this area, social media marketing and various monitoring tools.
• Excellent stakeholder and project management skills, diplomacy, written and verbal communication skills.

Our Commitment
An inclusive workplace:

• We are committed to being an organisation where everyone is included, respected, and empowered to be their best. We represent and celebrate our staff, partners and everyone we work with, and create a culture where everyone can reach their full potential.

Equal opportunities:
• We are an equal opportunity, disability-confident employer and are dedicated to achieving the highest standards of diversity, equity and inclusion. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, beliefs, customs, traditions and ways of life. This includes, but is not limited to, race, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion, national or social origin, health status, and economic or social situation.

Safeguarding:
• We are also committed to protecting everyone we come into contact with. We have a zero-tolerance approach to abuse of power, privilege or trust across our global work, and any form of inappropriate behaviour, discrimination, abuse, bullying, harassment, or exploitation. Safeguarding the people and communities we work with, our staff, volunteers and anyone working on our behalf is our top priority, and we take our responsibilities extremely seriously
