JOB DETAILS:
The Director of Partnerships and Local Sustainability will lead Pact/Tanzania efforts to develop and strengthen partnerships with government, donors, private sector, and other civil society organizations that will strengthen Pact/Tanzania projects and promote the sustainability of Pact’s projects work and its local implementing partners.
Key Responsibilities
• Help identify training needs among Pact Tanzania Staff and local implementing partners related to business development, resource mobilization, and advocacy and support the development and implementation of related trainings and other capacity development activities and tools.
• Provide inputs on resource mobilization capacity to support ACHIEVE/Tanzania and other project CD teams local partner systems and structure assessments and sustainability planning.
• Work with ACHIEVE project Capacity development team to rollout Business Sustainability plan among the local implementing partners
• Support the Country Director in representing Pact/Tanzania to state and non-state actors, partners, donors, government, and other key stakeholders as a base for building/maintaining/expanding a sustainable country and regional presence.
• Lead Pact/Tanzania’s efforts to expand Pact’s partnerships with bilateral donors, multilateral donors, foundations, private sector, and others to expand the quality, impact, and resources available to Pact/Tanzania programs.
• Lead Pact/Tanzania efforts, under the direction of the Country Director and working closely with Pact’s global business development teams and the Africa Regional Office, in developing and implementing new business strategies to ensure Pact has sufficient resources to execute its strategy and program commitments.
• Maintain Pact/Tanzania’s program pipeline aligned with the Pact Global Strategy and work with the Country Director to lead the identification and mobilization of in-country resources to work with global BD and other Pact global teams to identify and secure funding for new programs.
• Build a network of professional business contacts within Pact’s industry in Tanzania and facilitate the development of strategic partnerships with other organizations, the private sector, and donors.
• Support proposal development processes, including pre-positioning for opportunities, co-creation processes, staff recruitment, and provide management support for proposal processes to ensure that they meet funder specifications and technical requirements. All business development work will be done in partnership with Pact’s Global Business Development team.
• Work with the Pact Tanzania team, technical leads, other staff, and consultants to identify, conceptualize, and design proposals for new projects and/or amendments to current projects.
• Serve as Pact/Tanzania lead on new BD efforts within areas of relevant technical expertise.
• Comply with Pact policy and practices requirements with respect to health and safety, child safeguarding, equal opportunities, anti-fraud policy, and other relevant policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by the Country Director.
Requirements Knowledge and Experience
• Master’s Degree in a related field (business administration, public affairs, Public Health, or other social sciences preferred)
• 8+ years of relevant experience, including experience writing proposals for USG and/or other bilateral donors, multilateral donor agencies, private foundations, and/or the private sector
• Strong knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations regarding local governance and the role of civil society in Tanzania
• Fluency in English and proficient Kiswahili
• A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a high profile, fast paced environment.
• Strong familiarity with Tanzanian government decision-makers, and supporting institutions.
• Prior experience working with international, non-governmental organizations.
• Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
