Position Summary:

The Equipment Repair Workshop & Welding Fabrication – Mobile is responsible for overseeing the repair, maintenance, and fabrication of various equipment, machinery, and structures across multiple lodge locations. This role ensures that all equipment is in optimal working condition to support lodge operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operation of the mobile equipment repair workshop, including scheduling, coordinating tasks, and allocating resources effectively.
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of a wide range of equipment, including but not limited to, kitchen appliances, laundry machines, vehicles, generators, and HVAC systems.
  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to identify equipment faults, malfunctions, or damage.
  • Perform repairs, adjustments, and component replacements to restore equipment to working order, following manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines.
  • Fabricate metal parts, components, and structures using welding, cutting, and shaping techniques, as needed.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and engineering drawings to troubleshoot problems and plan repair or fabrication tasks.
  • Operate workshop tools and equipment, such as welders, grinders, drills, and hydraulic presses, safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards in all workshop activities, including proper handling of hazardous materials and waste disposal.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs, maintenance activities, inventory levels, and workshop expenses.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and contractors to procure spare parts, materials, and services required for equipment repair and fabrication projects.
  • Train and mentor workshop assistants or junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge in equipment repair and fabrication techniques.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members, department heads, and lodge managers to prioritize repair tasks and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement in reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in regular meetings, training sessions, and safety briefings to stay updated on company policies, procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or lodge management.

Prerequisites:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills in equipment repair, maintenance, and fabrication.
  • Proficiency in welding, metalworking, and fabrication techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in equipment repair, workshop management, and welding fabrication, preferably in a hospitality or facilities management environment.
