JOB DETAILS:
The Milele Zanzibar Foundation (MZF) is a non-profit, non-govern¬mental organization founded in 2014 with the aim of ensuring sustainable development and improved quality of life for rural communities in Zanzibar. The organization works with government authorities and local communities to reduce the risk of poverty in rural areas and contribute to the development of the islands.

MZF envisions vibrant, resilient, and sustainable rural communities in Zanzibar and strives to accelerate progress in health, education, and livelihood opportunities through holistic and sustainable development programs.

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Executive Director located in Zanzibar City. The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s operations, strategic planning, and program management. They will collaborate with stakeholders, manage staff, develop partnerships, and ensure transparent and participatory processes. The Executive Director will also be responsible for fundraising, financial management, and advocacy efforts.

Qualifications
• 20+ years experience in non-profit management, strategic planning, and program management
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in fundraising and financial management
• Knowledge of rural development and community-led initiatives
• Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and develop partnerships
• Advocacy skills and understanding of social and political contexts
• Fluency in English and Swahili
