Expression of Interest for Insurance Underwriting Services for the Nyanzaga Gold Project tenders at Sotta Mining Corporation Limited (Sotta)  

Sotta Mining Corporation Limited (Sotta) is a Tanzanian incorporated joint venture company, 84% owned by Perseus Mining Limited (Perseus) and 16% by the Government of Tanzania. Sotta is developing the Nyanzaga Gold Project, located within the southern area of the Lake Victoria Gold Fields in north-western Tanzania.

Sotta is in the process of developing the project, which includes the design and build of a gold processing plant, open pit mine, and associated infrastructure. Sotta Mining Corporation Limited invites Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible and qualified suppliers for Insurance Underwriting Services to support operational requirements. This EOI is intended to identify capable suppliers who can deliver insurance underwriting services as per the specifications provided in the scope of works. Selected suppliers will be invited to participate in the subsequent procurement process.

Scope of Work

• EOI Reference: EOI/NGP/091 – Insurance Underwriting Services

1. Project Contracts Works Insurance – $300M any one claim
2. Project Public Liability – $30M each occurrence and unlimited in the aggregate
3. Project Marine Transit – $100M of project conveyances for “All Risks”

Expression of Interest Compliance Criteria
Interested companies are invited to submit an Expression of Interest addressing the following compliance criteria:

• Detailed company information, including ownership, organizational structure, and details of any Tanzanian operating entity. Provide evidence of local content compliance with the Tanzania Mining Commission or verification of eligibility to apply.
• Information regarding the specialist underwriting areas noted above, including evidence of technical capability in assessing and rating risks of the type and size proposed by Sotta Mining Corporation Limited. Details of past and present projects are sought, including a brief scope of work, the services provided, and the value in USD.
• Details and CVs for key personnel who will be directly involved with the assessment process of the project insurance placements. The underwriters involved must also possess experience in International Reinsurance Placements.
• Verification by means of formal documentation (such as an audited financial report) of the company’s financial capacity to deliver the scope of work.
• References from previous mining companies the underwriters have been directly involved with.

Deadline for Submission: Tuesday, 11th February 2025
Late submissions will not be considered.

Evaluation: Expression of Interest submissions will be evaluated based on the information submitted in relation to the Expression of Interest Compliance Criteria.
