Key Responsibilities:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Activity
Project Direct Implementation
- Achieve high-quality project implementation and reporting of project interventions, track the targets and share on time with the District Project Coordinator, DME and WVT Head Office
- Innovatively collaborate with partners, allies, LGAs and like-minded stakeholders to influence policy and achieve a multiplied impact;
- Maintain a tight understanding of all field activities, program strategies, resources and actual responsibilities as necessary to ensure appropriate progress toward objectives;
- Contribute to improved food security, resilience, and employment opportunities among targeted beneficiaries.
- Identify and work with vulnerable and needy households in the assigned project location within the District Council.
- Work with project beneficiaries and partners to social cohesion between refugees and host communities through the promotion of peace and stability.
- Enhance gender equality & protection for project beneficiaries
- Spearhead all day-to-day project operations.
End Results
- Effective project implementation according to PDD and Log frame.
- Inclusion of the most vulnerable households in the project interventions.
Activity
Project Budget and Resource Management
- Participate in annual and multiyear budget plans, reviews, and report preparation in collaboration with finance staff.
- Ensure compliance with WVT finance policy and donor requirements in management and use of financial and non-financial resources;
- Take part in the management of project funds, including monitoring of monthly budget burn rates, budget realignments, and supporting internal and external auditing;
- Creating synergies and resource leverage with local government and other actors through facilitating integrated district and local level planning and budgeting;
End Results
Effective activity implementation according to the approved budget, WV and donor standards.
Activity
Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning (MEAL) and Reporting
- Adapt in collaboration with project colleagues, especially the MEAL Officer, the project's theory of change;
- Participate in the development and spearhead the implementation of the program’s impact measurement system, including the collection of baseline and periodic data for tracking programme performance and decision making;
- Deliberately collaborate with other World Vision projects, ensure that the project is well implemented, generate evidence for policy impact and contribute to World Vision and WFP strategies.
- Prepare and share quality project progress reports as per timelines and submit them to the relevant authority;
- Take part in annual program review meeting to assess progress, adjust plans, and draw/disseminate lessons learned;
- Participate in planning, organizing and conducting reflective learning forums (quarterly reflection meetings, workshops, etc) internally and externally with project stakeholders, including the government.
End Results:
Quality monitoring, evaluation, and learning to enhance project progress towards the goal and influence decision-making
Activity
Networking, visibility, and donor recognition
- Establish and maintain good relations with partners, LGA stakeholders and other consortium members about implementation and accountability.
- Ensures project interventions and donors are recognized by the government, partners and communities through project branding, and participation in different forums, including national, zonal, regional and local events.
- Develop and support effective linkages and collaboration with key public institutions in the relevant field.
- Represent the project in various assigned learning and sharing meetings/workshops/conferences.
- Facilitate documentation and sharing of processes, challenges, best practices and lessons learnt among partners in the consortium.
- Build a network and create a positive image about the project, WV and WFP in general
And Other Duties as Assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Professional Experience:
- Must have at least six months of experience in the implementation of agriculture or rural development projects.
- Experience with INGOs, WFP and other UN Agencies' project management is an added advantage.
- Must have experience working in and interacting with rural communities.
- Having worked in the refugee and host communities’ context is an added advantage.
- Should have experience and a general understanding of inclusive and holistic programming, such as but not limited to GESI responsive and transformative designs, Environment, market-led approaches, Financial Management, and related mainstreaming strategies and activities, especially in the livelihood sector.
Required Education Qualification: Should have a university degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Agriculture general, Rural Development, Community Development or Other related fields.
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Report writing skills: Ability to write reports
- Strong facilitation skills in the community
- Basic understanding of advocacy approaches and issues at local and/or national levels.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and Swahili
- Proven experience in facilitating effective project documentation and dissemination of results to a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Strong commitment to WV Values, Mission and Vision
