Job Summary:
Fleet Supervisor is responsible for managing a company’s fleet of vehicles and ensuring that they are maintained, compliant with regulations, and efficiently utilized. The role involves overseeing vehicle operations, supervising drivers, and managing the maintenance, logistics, and safety within budgetary while meeting company and customer requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and planning transport systems, including routes, schedules, infrastructure, and modes of transportation.
- Route Planning:
- Developing efficient transportation routes for vehicles within the fleet to minimize fuel consumption, reduce travel time, and meet delivery deadlines.
- Vehicle Allocation:
- Assigning vehicles to specific routes or tasks based on factors such as vehicle capacity, type, and availability, as well as customer requirements and delivery schedules.
- Optimization of Resources:
- Maximizing the utilization of fleet resources, including vehicles, drivers, and equipment, to achieve optimal productivity and cost efficiency.
- Maintenance Scheduling:
- Coordinating vehicle maintenance and servicing schedules to minimize downtime and ensure that vehicles are safe and operational.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, including scheduling container pickups, deliveries, and transfers to meet customer demands.
- Update smart sheet and give daily truck report
- Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes affecting transportation operations.
Any other duties given by manager or supervisor
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: o Previous experience of 3+ years in fleet management, logistics, or a related field.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations (DOT, EPA, etc.).
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use fleet management software and other tools.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, transportation, or any related field management is preferred.
- Certifications (optional but beneficial):
- Fleet management certifications such as Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) or similar are advantageous.
Working Conditions:
- The role may require occasional travel for fleet inspections or meetings.
- Work in an office environment with occasional visits to the warehouse or vehicle maintenance facilities.
- Some irregular hours may be needed for emergency situations or fleet operations.
