Position Summary:
The GSS – Generator Mechanic is tasked with ensuring the reliable operation and maintenance of all generators within the group of companies. They are responsible for overseeing generator operations, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), conducting inspections, coordinating maintenance tasks, troubleshooting malfunctions, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to best practice guidelines in a hospitality environment for generator operation and maintenance.
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all generators within the group of companies.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for generator operation and maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of generator systems to identify any potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and load testing.
- Monitor fuel consumption and manage fuel inventory to ensure uninterrupted generator operation.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose generator malfunctions or failures, coordinating with external vendors for repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards related to generator operation and maintenance.
- Train and supervise generator technicians and maintenance staff to ensure competency and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of generator maintenance activities, including service logs, repair histories, and warranty information.
- Develop and maintain relationships with generator suppliers and service providers to ensure timely support and assistance when needed.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as facilities management and engineering, to coordinate generator maintenance schedules and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Stay updated on advancements in generator technology and industry best practices to continuously improve efficiency and reliability.
- Prepare and present reports to management on generator performance, maintenance activities, and recommendations for improvement.
- Uphold a high standard of professionalism and customer service in all interactions with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Prerequisites:
- Proficiency in generator operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or certification in generator mechanics preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in generator maintenance and repair.
- Prior experience in a hospitality environment is advantageous.
