Position: Graduate Mining Engineer
Location: Geita Gold Mine, Geita

Duties and Responsibilities
• Comply with AUMS Site Safety Policy.
• Mandatory participation in the AUMS Graduate Program, consisting of a minimum of two (2)years working underground.
• Support the Senior Mining Engineer and Foreman in providing evidence-based data and provide daily reporting on the operation.
• Prepare and present a weekly plan using 7:21 principles.
• Forecasting Ground Support and Drill Consumables, with regular stock take of materials.
• Quality Control including pull testing of ground support bolts, and explosive product cup testing.
• Conduct Mine Control when required, including accurate data collection and provide detailed Shift Mine Report.

Essential Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (Bsc) within the previous twelve (12) months.
• Enrol to the Engineers Registration Board (ERB), within six(6) months of graduation.
• Compliance to AUMS Site Safety Policy.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Pass Site Medical Examination.
• Provide a satisfactory Certificate of Good Behaviour from the Police Authority. Additional Requirments
• Discipline knowledge commensurate with studies.
• Demonstrated capacity to make sound and timely decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements
• Valid Tanzanian driver’s licence.
• Basic First Aid certificate.
• Prior experience at an underground mining as part of university Practical Training or equivalent.
