JOB DETAILS:
ADP-Mbozi is a registered national NGO on 10th October 2005 under section 11(3) Act No. 24 of 2002. Originally registered under the Trustees Incorporation Ordinance Cap. 375 on 29th November 1995 with registration number 1639. Since then, the Organization has grown in terms of interventions and coverage.
ADP Mbozi receives funds from HJF MedicalResearch International, Inc Tanzania (HJFMRI-T) to support the implementation of community level activities. HJFMedicalResearch International, Inc Tanzania is a non-profit that has supported these efforts since 2004 through the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) and PEPFAR. This program is conducted in close collaboration with the Tanzania Ministry of Health and the President’s Office of the Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG) through the Regional Administrative Secretary.
ADP Mbozi aims to be a leader in facilitating socio-economic empowerment of marginalized rural and urban communities in Tanzania through community empowerment on HIV prevention, impact mitigation, gender and good governance; promotion of improved agriculture production and food utilization, entrepreneurship and market development, and addressing challenges of environment. The headquarter of the organization is located in Vwawa town, Songwe Region, about 70 km from Mbeya city, along the Dar es Salaam –Lusaka highway.
Duty Station: Chunya Mbeya-Tanzania
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Leading in the development of approaches and strategies for mobilizing and organizing the communities to create demand for HTS, strategies, and activities to improve HTS in the district.
2. Liaise and consult regularly with the relevant authorities, partner organizations, community leaders, and beneficiaries concerning the planning, design, and implementation of HJFMRI and partner HTS activities.
3. Implement integrated, innovative, and gender-sensitive interventions for the provision of comprehensive HTS services for key and vulnerable populations, youths in and out of school, and the general population.
4. Collaborate with government technical staff to deliver high-quality HTS services.
5. Provide support through coaching, supervision visits, and mentoring to the field team implementing HTS activities.
6. Document, and disseminate knowledge and information regarding best practices, and lessons learned within the project area.
7. Ensure quality implementation and achievement of results for project activities.
8. Provide sound advice at facility and community settings and improve post-test referrals for all clients.
9. Assist the project coordinator in developing annual work plans, budgets, and reports for HTS activities.
10. Prepare and submit timely HTS monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports.
11. Travel within the district to ensure implementation and evaluation of service delivery.
12. Liaise with the M&E Department to ensure that HTS components are functional (e.g. clarity
13. of indicators, quality of M&E data collection tools, data quality and reporting).
14. Develops and maintain good working relationships with other project staff, governmental
15. and non-governmental, within the district.
16. Provides monthly reports to the project coordinator.
17. Perform any other assignment or duties that may be required to support the project.
Requirements:
1. First Degree or Diploma in Medical / Nursing /Public health or Counseling, Psychology, or other HIV/AIDS related discipline.
2. Knowledge and skills in organizing health campaigns including VCT is desirable.
3. At least two years of experience in community HIV project.
4. Knowledge of the current developments and best practices in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention, in Tanzania
5. Fluency in English and Kiswahili required.
6. Ability to use standard software applications (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.)
7. Good communication skills: ability to troubleshoot; ability to work independently and supervise others.
8. 70% travel required and able to ride motorbike
Remuneration
Successful candidates will get competitive salary and fringe benefits depending on entry
qualifications and experience.
