Job Title: Head of Operations, Planet Lodges
Location: Arusha, Tanzania (with frequent travel to lodges and camps)

About the Role:
Planet Lodges is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations to lead our growing portfolio of luxury lodges and safari camps in Tanzania. This pivotal role demands a unique blend of hospitality expertise, financial acumen, and strategic vision. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, driving financial performance, and upholding the brand’s commitment to sustainable luxury.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of all lodges and camps, ensuring seamless guest experiences, efficient resource management, and adherence to the highest quality standards.
• Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement strategies to maximize revenue and profitability.
• Brand & Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute brand strategies, marketing campaigns, and sales initiatives that drive occupancy and revenue growth.
• Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including potential acquisitions, partnerships, and expansion into new markets.
• Team Leadership: Build and inspire a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Guest Experience: Champion a guest-centric approach, ensuring every touchpoint exceeds expectations and creates lasting memories.
• Systems/Technology: Managing the deployment and upkeep of hotel management systems and technological solutions to enhance operational efficiency and elevate the guest experience.
• Sustainability: Implement and monitor sustainable practices across all operations, minimizing environmental impact and supporting local communities.

Qualifications:
1. 10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably in luxury lodges or safari camps.
2. Proven track record of driving operational excellence, financial performance, and guest satisfaction.
3. Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
4. Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
5. Passion for sustainable tourism and commitment to responsible business practices.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
7. Willingness to relocate to Arusha, Tanzania, and travel frequently to lodges and camps.
8. Open to both Tanzanian citizens and expatriates.
9. Nice-to-Haves:
10. Cultural sensitivity and understanding of the Tanzanian context.
11. Knowledge of Swahili language.
12. Experience in community engagement and development projects.
