Health for a Prosperous Nation (H-PON) is a Local Nongovernmental organization with a vision of a healthy Tanzanian population. The H-PON works to contribute towards the Government efforts via its development agenda of having a healthy Tanzanian population which engages effectively in development efforts and hence reduce poverty and generating a prosperous Nation. The organization Core areas include; Research, Health system Strengthening and Implementation of innovative evidence-based approaches which have the potential of making difference in lives of the people at grass root level.
Health for a Prosperous Nation is looking for a suitable qualified “Implementation Manager” to work on one of its projects titled “Discover Learning”.
Qualifications & Experience
• Must have good experience in Research
• Must have good experience working with community.
• Must be a good team leader and Manager.
• Must have at least Bachelor Degree
• Fluent in speaking Swahili & English
• Good Swahili & English writing skills
• Good report writing skills
• Must have at least one-year experience in Research
• Must have spirit of working under minimal supervision
Roles and responsibilities
The implementation manager will conduct the following activities:
• Establish, and maintain good working relationship with all stakeholders; Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, President’s Office RALG, Ministry of Health Community Development, Elders and Children
• Work closely with Discover Team at H-PON, University of California Berkeley (UCB) and Save the Children Tanzania (STC) to assimilate knowledge on Discover Learning up to date
• Work with University of California Berkeley (UCB) team to iron out all remaining issues with the facilitation package
• Work with other implementing partners, CAMARA, Ubongo Kids, and DALBERG to develop, and implement discover learning intervention
• Work to hire master facilitators
• Work with hired master facilitators to recruit community-based facilitators
• Work with UCB team to train master facilitators
• Supervise training of community-based facilitators
• Prepare Implementation Logistics
• Engagement with intervention schools
• Securing catering vendor for children meals in implementation schools
• Prepare facilitators transport to and from intervention schools to HPON offices
• Prepare and maintain feedback mechanisms with schools, parents and pupils
• Maintain custody of study materials, prints, computers and other soft copies.
• Supervise discover learning implementation
• Supervise and monitor quality of facilitators work
• Conduct scheduled debriefing with master facilitators, document and use feedback to improve facilitation
• Prepare implementation reports and documentation of events
• Provide timely feedback to the research team through weekly conference calls
• Train teachers on principles of developmental science and orient them on discover learning
• Work with PI and Evaluation Coordinator to update and involve National Advisory Board in its advisory role in the implementation of discover learning, innovation, evaluation and framing
• Other duties assigned by supervisor/line manager.
