JOB DETAILS:
Reports to: N+1: Inspection Lead, N+ 2: Head of Maintenance and Inspection
Job Type: Full Time- 5d/w - with regular duty week and frequent EACOP site visit
Location: MST – Tanga (prior site readiness location will be Dar es Salaam and construction sites
JOB DIMENSIONS/ GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Inspection Engineer will support the EACOP Inspection Leader. He will cooperate with a team of 4 inspections specialists or engineers. He will be the interface for inspections activities between pipeline engineer, corrosion engineer, site method, contractors, and authorities.
EACOP main equipment under inspection responsibility are:
• Pipeline
• Vessel: Pig Receivers, Pig Launcher, drain drums, air vessels, Nitrogen cylinder, pressures vessels .
• Fire heaters
• Structures: Exhaust stack, LOF, Communication Towers
• Storage tanks
• Lifting equipment and structures.
• Piping
• EPRS
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establishes inspections services contract required for EACOP inspection plan.
• Analyzes and optimizes inspection activities efficiency.
• Reviews management of change request.
• Follow up and update Risk base inspection tools for piping and vessel.
• Ensures lifting register, flexible register, temporary repair database is up to date.
• Ensures welding qualification, material and procedure required for Pipeline emergency repair are available and up to date.
• Be the focal point for inspection and corrosion exchange.
• Reviews Inspection program, and partial Field shutdown
• Reviews the Inspection Reports, including analysis of inspection findings, fit for service assessment, recommendation for remedial actions.
• Participates in technical audits of contracted companies regarding Non-Destructive Testing, Welding, Piping/Pressure Vessel fabrication, Coating.
• Reviews the recommendation for corrective actions (material selection, design of equipment, coating, cathodic protection, operating conditions, corrosion inhibition…)
• Ensures that repair / modifications / procurement of equipment complies with the relevant regulation, company rules, technical codes, and norms.
• Prepares inspection scope and campaign, with a follow-up of the performance of the team and objectives including monitoring of KPI’s (progress, budget, etc...)
• Analyzes degradation modes or reports to be reviewed with Inspection Leader.
• Acts as Inspection lead deputy during inspection lead leave.
• Audits regularly required contractor and site.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Academic Qualifications:
• Bachelor level or similar.
• Mechanics or Materials Engineer (or equivalent) with emphasis on mechanics, materials, metallurgy, and corrosion.
• Knowledge of Oil & Gas process equipment, technology, and piping .
• Good knowledge of international Codes, Standards and Regulation related to the inspection discipline (ASME, API, NACE...) .
• Good knowledge of materials, metallurgy, welding, corrosion, failure modes, Non-Destructive Testing, and inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of RBI methodology (Risk Based Inspection.)
• Good knowledge of CMIMS (Computerized Maintenance & Inspection Management System.)
• Good knowledge in Fitness for Service assessment methods (API RP 579, ASME, DNV...) .
• Proficiency in oral and written English.
• ERB Registration as a Professional Engineer.
Experience Required:
• Minimum 6 years’ experience as supervisor or leader in inspection related activities in the Oil & Gas industry or Refinery or Petrochemical Site.
• Experience in Full Field shut down inspection scope preparation and follow up
