JOB DETAILS:
The Landscape Officer will be responsible for administration/operations, financial management and implementation of the programme goals and the objectives of SUSTAIN Eco and GEF 6 TRI in the Rukwa-Katavi-Kigoma Landscape. Under the supervision of the Programme Manager – SUSTAIN II and Programme Manager – TRI, the Landscape Officer (LPC) will be responsible for coordination and support of implementing partners to ensure effective and timely activity development, planning, delivery, monitoring, and reporting in the SUSTAIN/TRI implementation landscape.

SPECIFIC DUTIES;
• Under the direction of the Programme Manager – SUSTAIN and with the Programme Manager – TRI, the specific responsibilities of the Landscape Officer are to:
• Provide administrative and managerial oversight;
• Perform day to day follow up and collaboration with project partners, conduct regular meetings with service providers and sub-grantees as needed.
• Ensure that work proceeds using a collaborative and interactive approach and that communication between project partners is carried out in a respectful and appropriate manner.
• Ensure all administrative procedures are followed, in line with Donor Contracts and the IUCN Internal Control Systems (ICS), such as those regarding vehicle use and procurement.
• Develop work packages and ensure the strategic direction;
• Work closely with project partners and service providers to develop work packages that are in line with donor and Government priorities and policies
• Keep abreast of development needs and Programme opportunities in the landscape including those in line with IUCN’s sectoral priorities and programmatic principles.
• Programme implementation;
• Oversee the development and successful implementation of work-plans for each work package.
• Ensure compliance with all donor provisions, and timely fulfillment of programmatic reporting requirements.
• Oversee timely expenditure of approved budgets, avoiding both under spending and overspending on budget line items
• Compile outcomes of the strategic meetings, progress reporting and dissemination of communication materials.
• Support the documentation and dissemination of project lessons learnt and best practices
• Ensure gender equality is integrated and mainstreamed in all field activities
• Monitoring and Evaluation;
• In coordination with the Project Leads and M&E Officer, develop and apply the projects monitoring instruments and systems
• Develop and timely submit all required IUCN and donor reports
• Regularly visit the project sites to evaluate programmatic outputs and impact both quantitatively and in terms of quality implementation.
• Support the updating of the project on the IUCN portal with relevant project data
• Representation;
• Network and liaise with all the partners and potential partners, developing and maintaining partnerships and strong relationships across all sectors (including the private sector);
• Maintain good working relationships with MDAs, non-state actors, private sector, community leadership and visiting donor teams
• Fundraising and project development;
• Support in the identification of new funding opportunities to scale-out project activities within SAGCOT
• Supporting in the development of new project proposals;
• Supporting networking with key development partners, national institutions and NGOs to support project implementation.

• Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time

REQUIREMENTS
• Education;
• Minimum Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline, including agriculture, agribusiness, agricultural economics, business administration, or related fields.
• Knowledge of issues related to sustainable agriculture, climate change, will be an added advantage.
• Computer literacy in relation to office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint) use of internet and online communication tools;
• At least five years of professional experience in biodiversity conservation, forest landscape restoration, natural resources management, Climate change/REDD+, governance, or in sustainable development.
• Solid knowledge of conservation, climate change, land tenure and governance, and sustainable development policy issues
• Practical experience in implementation of field projects, with linkages to national policy processes and programmes
• Experience in fundraising and resource mobilization
• Experience in Multi-Stakeholder Processes and in creating and facilitating dialogues, partnerships and synergies;
• Work Experience;
• At least five years of professional experience in sustainable agriculture, agribusiness or in sustainable development.
• Solid knowledge of policy issues on sustainable agriculture, agribusiness or related themes
• Practical experience in leading / supporting the implementation of field projects including on sustainable agriculture
• Experience in creating and facilitating dialogues, partnerships and synergies;
• Experience in the working with farmers groups, input suppliers, processors and other value chain actors
• Computer literacy in relation to office applications (word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint) use of internet and online communication tools;
• Language Requirements;
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili (both written and verbal).

• Must be strategic thinker, highly motivated, results driven and able to energize and motivate teams
• Excellent interpersonal skills to support building networks and partnerships;
• Must be a strong team player with proven communication and diplomacy skills and ability to work effectively with multicultural environment displaying sensitivity and respect for diversity

• Willing to travel and work in rural areas frequently within Tanzania
