The University of Dar es Salaam invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to be considered for immediate employment to fill the following academic vacant posts:
DEPARTMENT OF MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY(MBB)
1.50 Lecturer (Microbiology) – 1 post
1.50.1 Duties and Responsibilities
i. To carry out lectures, conduct tutorials, seminars and practical for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes;
ii. To set, invigilate and mark undergraduate and postgraduate examinations;
iii. To mentor junior staff in relevant fields;
iv. To participate/contribute in curriculum development;
v. To participate in developing and managing various university activities;
vi. To conduct research and publish/disseminate results;
vii. To carry out consultancy and community services;
viii. To write teaching manuals and compendia;
ix. To supervise field practicals, undergraduate special projects, Masters and PhD dissertations/theses;
x. To attend/organize workshops, conferences and symposia; and
xi. To perform any work of the University as assigned by relevant authorities.
1.50.2 Qualification and Experience
PhD in Microbiology (specialized in Lichenology, Mycology and Phycology/Algology, Master of Science in (Applied Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology, Aquatic Microbiology, Soil Microbiology, Agriculture Microbiology, Microbial Ecology/Industrial Microbiology) and Bachelor of Science in Microbiology or Molecular Biology and Biotechnology.

e. Certificates from foreign Universities should be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU).
f. Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary or Advanced level education should be verified by The National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
g. Presentation of forged certificates & other false information will result in automatic disqualification and legal action.
h. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interview.
i. Applicants must be citizens of Tanzania with an age not above 45 years Applicants for posts in IMS should be ready to permanently reside in Zanzibar
