JOB DETAILS:
Main Duties:
Network Optimization:
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the logistics network, including bag cement depots, focusing on cost reduction, efficiency, and reliability.
• Analyze and improve supply chain processes.
• Utilize data analytics to identify areas for improvement within the logistics network.
• Define necessary KPIs and implement regular follow-up cycles.

Road Transport:
• Design and implement strategies to optimize road transport operations, including the use of back-freight to maximize transport efficiency.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure seamless integration and cost-effective operations.
• Monitor and evaluate road transport performance, making adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency.
• Push for back-freight opportunities to maximize the utilization of transport resources.
• Systematically analyze and compare the use of 3rd parties vs. own assets/resources; experience in managing an own truck fleet would be a plus.

Management of Parking Yards:
• Put mechanisms in place to ensure control of inflow and outflow of trucks in parking yards to prevent congestion and ensure safety.
• Liaise with Production and Packing Plant on the daily loading schedule and maintenance arrangements to ensure efficient loading & unloading processes.
• Regular inspection of parking yards to identify areas for improvement.

Railway Deliveries:
• Manage and optimize railway logistics operations, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of cement products.
• Collaborate with railway service providers to negotiate contracts and secure favorable terms.
• Monitor and evaluate railway performance, addressing any issues that may arise to maintain high service levels.
• Systematically analyze and compare the use of 3rd parties vs. own assets/resources.

Supply Chain Management:
• Manage distribution network and warehouses.
• Responsibility for customs clearance of goods.
• Management of weighbridges at our sites.

Leadership and Team Management:
• Lead and mentor a team of logistics professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
• Set performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team members meet and exceed expectations.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of the logistics team.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Work closely with internal departments, including production, sales, and procurement, to align logistics costs and strategies with overall business objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, such as suppliers, transport companies, railway authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with Headquarter functions in Germany.

Compliance, Health & Safety:
• Ensure all logistics operations comply with local and international regulations and standards.
• Work closely together with the Health & Safety Department to ensure safety regulations and protocols to protect drivers. This includes signage, speed limits, and designated parking areas.
• Implement and enforce Group health and safety protocols to protect employees, products, and the environment.

Minimum Requirements (Qualifications):
Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
•Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics management, with a focus on network optimization, back-freight, and railway deliveries.
•Proven track record of successfully leading and optimizing logistics operations in the cement or related industry.
•Strong analytical skills and proficiency in logistics software and data analysis tools.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
•Team player.
•Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
