JOB DETAILS:
Role Description and Purpose.
To perform preventative and as-required maintenance on plant equipment and mobile manufacturing units. Working within the guidelines set out in Orica SOPs and relevant Tanzanian regulations.

Key Accountabilities
• Compliance with SHES charter
• Ensure adherence to all SHES policies, procedures, and standards to safeguard company personnel and assets
• Demonstrate safe behavior & leadership
• Compliance with plant and MMU maintenance procedures, including work permits, confined space entry, control of change, PPE application, record keeping, security management and employee handbook
• “Red Book” to be maintained.
• Participate in SHES programs/ Do at least 15 Take 5 per month.
• Enforcement of the requirements of the relevant statutory regulations, SHES Policy and the Customer Mine Standards.
• Ensuring that all accidents in the department are immediately notified to the Supervisor.
• Organize workflow according to workload in order to meet delivery schedule and to complete assigned jobs.
• Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth
• Maintain timekeeping.
• Train new employees.
• Performing daily maintenance as per Master Blast requirements.
• Attending all breakdown without delay.
• Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.
• Active participation in site meetings, and demonstrable cooperation with Orica and Customer’s staff at site.
• Assist Site supervisor with local communities (in conjunction with client) to facilitate community knowledge and acceptance of site operations.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.

Competencies and qualifications
• Ordinary Level Education with Excellent mechanical and or electrical abilities (mechanical certification required)
• Experience in operating heavy equipment (preferred).
• Familiarity with company policies and legal guidelines of the field.
• Effective written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter

• English speaker preferred
• Fluent in Kiswahili language
