JOB DETAILS:
The Mechanical Rotating & Static Equipment Specialist will serve as the focal point between field engineering and site supervision for communicating construction engineering and assurance issues within the respective allocated work scope packages. This role is responsible for ensuring that all piping and mechanical works are carried out using safe working practices and completed in accordance with the project codes, standards, drawings, and specifications.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Directly support the Contractors, ensuring delivery of the pipeline and associated facilities and infrastructures are on-time and within budget.
2. Review Contractor’s submitted documents and procedures, such as ITP’s, QCP’s, and SOP’s.
3. Monitor compliance with the company contractor mechanical document deliverables and data.
4. Maintain and update databases and record storage for piping/mechanical reports and compliance audits.
5. Perform routine reviews of equipment/materials/installations to ensure conformance and build integrity.
6. Monitor the coordination and supervision of pipe-to-pipe flange management and bolt torque activities.
7. Monitor field inspections of flange alignments, bolt torque, and static equipment placement.
Qualifications
1. Hold a piping and/or mechanical inspector or rotating inspector certification issued by a recognized international certification scheme such as ASQ, AWS, CSWIP, PCN, or other company-agreed applicable qualifications that support the assurance management and construction delivery.
2. A minimum of 12 years of piping/mechanical inspection-related working experience in the oil & gas sectors.
3. Previous quality assurance/engineering experience and demonstrated knowledge/use of quality tools/methodologies.
4. Experience in analyzing construction metrics to report accurate KPIs and potential non-compliance.
Required Competencies
1. Competency in industry applications such as Assure, OMIE, Aconex, PowerBI, P6, CMT, SharePoint, Adobe, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
2. General knowledge of upstream oil & gas surface facilities, including oil pipelines, process piping, skid equipment, pumps, compressors, tanks, and the E&I interfaces with equipment.
3. Understanding the impact of mechanical quality within the critical path of construction planning programs.
4. Experience with model review in SP3D, E3D, PDS, PDMS platforms.
5. General knowledge of codes such as API 1104/650/686, ASME V, IX, B31.1, B31.3, and PCC-1.
