JOB DETAILS:
Major Responsibilities
• Develop and implement processes and methodologies for consistent data collection and management, aligning with the MEL Plan, M&E field tools, and related documents.
• Oversee data collection and analysis to assess the impact of project/program activities and present findings to project staff for ongoing learning.
• Lead the timely reviewing, submission, and strategic presentation of semi-annual, annual, and other regular reports to authorities, ensuring alignment with donor requirements. Facilitate comprehensive quarterly and semi-annual program/project reviews, compiling insightful reports to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement
• Track and analyze strategy indicators, capturing best practices and lessons learned to incorporate into project activities.
• Train project staff on database updates, monitoring, success story development, and evaluation responsibilities.
• Oversee daily monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities for the project/programs and implement guidelines/policies for critical milestones.
• Create and implement a monitoring system for the national office, projects, and programs to inform senior leadership on performance monthly and quarterly.
• Review program and project designs for quality monitoring and evaluation plans, providing feedback and technical assistance as needed.
• Lead and participate in field evaluations, ensuring the quality of data gathering, analysis, and reporting.
• Support grant-funded programs and projects to comply with SOS Children’s Villages DME policy and donor requirements for program and project design, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Develop a capacity-building/training strategy to improve design, monitoring, and evaluation competencies in programs and projects.
• Document and disseminate lessons learned within SOS Children’s Villages, assist senior management in identifying and mainstreaming best practices, and identify research opportunities based on strategic directions.
• Develop data collection tools, orient staff, and ensure the adoption of database platforms and technologies to effectively capture and organize data.
• Identify opportunities for research based on strategic directions in collaboration with program staff.
• Liaise with senior management, providing information where evaluation findings impact policy and program development and improvement.
• Monitor project activities, outputs, outcomes, impacts, and progress toward anticipated results.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Abilities, and Behavioral Competences:
• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, or related fields. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
• Proficiency in office software and data analysis applications.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in Monitoring and Evaluation in relevant fields, including sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender, young mothers, and adolescent programming.
• Demonstrated ability to develop data collection tools and manage program databases, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and validity.
• Strong understanding of donor-funded projects, with expertise in result-based reporting and a solid knowledge of donor compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Fluency in both English and Swahili.
