Sumbawanga Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (SUWASA) is an autonomous utility which was established under section 3(1) of Cap.27i2 of 1997, as reviewed by Sect. 60 of Water supply and sanitation Act.No.12 of 2009. Sumbawanga Urban water Supply is charged with the overall responsibility of operation and management of clean water supply and sanitation services in Surnbawanga urban areas within the municipality. Sumbawanga urban Water Supply performs its duties under the supervision of Executive Board of Directors with function and Responsibilities which stipulated in the water works ordinances and MOU..

JOB DETAILS:
The Authority is seeking for qualified and highly motivated human resource to fill the position mentioned below. The qualified Candidates shall be recruited on a renewable contract term of Three years period. The employment contract can be charged from contract term to permanent and pensionable term at the end of the-15¢ period of the contract, this will depend on the performance of the employee.

Qualifications

• Holder of a l3aohelor’s Degree in Civil Water Resources/Environmental Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized and a reputable University / Institution.
  
• Registration with Engineers Registration Board is an added advantage and must be a computer literacy
  
• Age: 25 - 40 years
  

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting field data, analysis, systems design and preparation of procedures for urban water supply systems and sewerage network;
  
• Assist in designing water supply systems and sewerage network;
  
• Identify issues of variation orders, recommends extensions of time and ensures settlement of Contractor’s claims.
  
• Assist in preparation of working drawing of water supply systems and sewerage networks;
  
• Drafts hills of quantities and cost estimates and water supply systems and sewerage network projects
  
• Prepare work plan/ schedule of writer supply systems and sewerage network projects;
  
• Prepare Tender Documents for writer supply systems and sewerage network projects;
  
• ldentify issues for facilitation on the preparation of the master plan for urban water supply and sewerage networks;
  
• Supervise technicians on construction of water supply systems and sewerage network projects at sites;
  
• Prepare daily Work program at the construction site;
  
• Manage staff and equipment at the construction site;
  
• Prepare and maintain accurate rind up to-date site records; and
  
• Perform any other duties related to the above as assigned by superiors.
