Job Summary:
The Printer Photocopy Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing printers, copiers, and multifunction devices in offices, schools, and other work environments. The role involves both hardware and software diagnostics, customer service, and sometimes networking tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair issues with printers, photocopiers, and multi-function machines (e.g., toner issues, paper jams, fuser errors, etc.)
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing on printing equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Install, configure, and test printers and photocopiers across departments.
- Identify and replace defective hardware components in PCs (RAM, hard drives, power supply units, etc.) Provide technical support to staff experiencing printing or hardware-related issues.
- Maintain records of service requests, parts used, and repairs conducted.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace for equipment repair and spare parts.
- Collaborate with the IT department to escalate and resolve more advanced system-level problems.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certificate or Diploma in Electronics, IT Hardware, or related field.
- Proven experience in repairing printers and photocopiers (HP, Canon, Ricoh, Epson, Kyocera, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of PC hardware repair and component-level troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service guides.
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
Added Advantage:
- Experience in networking printers over LAN/Wi-Fi.
- Familiarity with printer driver installations on Windows or Mac OS.
- Experience managing printer consumables inventory.
- A valid driver’s license (if field support is require
