Job description
1. Professional counselors are qualified individuals who use counseling methods to help people manage and over mental and emotional issues. Their duties and responsibilities include;
2. Listening to clients and assessing their needs and goals.
3. Developing and adapting treatment plans and coping strategies for clients.
4. Providing education and resources on mental health issues and stress management.
5. Monitoring client progress and evaluating outcomes.
6. Educating clients about appropriate coping mechanisms to help them through tough situations.
7. Recording the clients’ progress and changing their treatment plan when needed.
8. Educate staff and clients on stress and trauma coping mechanisms
9. Provide individuals with the resources they need to reach personal goals
10. Coordinate with social and medical agencies, healthcare providers and community outreach programs to provide clients with needed services
11. Addressing concerns through talk therapy and by modeling adaptive, sustainable behaviors.
12. Promoting constructive self-reflection, helpful coping techniques, and nurturing relationships.
13. Monitoring perceptions about and adherence to suggested treatment.
14. Recording symptomology over time to ascertain the utility of interventions.

Requirements
Qualifications and experience
1. At a minimum, the suitable candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work or counseling and either possess or be able to obtain a National Certified Counselor certification before employment.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as a professional counselor.
3. Superb verbal and written communication skills.
4. Aptitude to empathize with clients and help them open up.
5. Good time management skills.
6. Proven experience in developing effective treatment plans.
7. Proficient in numerous local languages is preferred.
