JOB DETAILS:
BACKGROUND:
Do you want to join a team of passionate innovators AND improve global health? Nexleaf is a nonprofit technology company that believes when people are equipped with better data, they are empowered to build a healthier and equitable world for all. We are committed to transforming global health systems using data-driven insights. We have built a team of curious skeptics, data lovers, social justice advocates, forward-thinking computer scientists, and public health experts that are on a mission to rethink how life-saving solutions are designed and delivered. Partnering with leading organizations such as Google.org, Gavi, Qualcomm, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, we are focused on measurable and long-lasting impact.

THE ROLE
More than 25% of vaccines lose their potency by the time a child receives them because of failed equipment and other issues that occur between the time a vaccine is manufactured and when it reaches its last mile. Because of this, it is important that there be transparency in temperature of vaccines as they are transported, and accurate data of when and where the breakdowns are happening, that can be used to solve this problem.
Nexleaf is working with partners to pilot a Transport program that will install sensors in coolers used to transport vaccines between warehouses and health facilities. These sensors generate data that is then provided to the Ministry of Health on a dashboard along with analytic support from the Nexleaf team. Along with the data provided from transport routes, the dashboard provides full visibility into temperature excursions at any point in the cold chain nationwide.

We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee our vaccine transport monitoring project in Tanzania that will help install the sensors, collect this data, analyze it, and partner with the Ministry of Health to help drive decision making and future planning. As a critical member of the Vaccine Program team, this position will work closely with the US-based Vaccine Program Director and the Tanzania-based Project and Data Manager, and will design and execute a repeatable implementation model for vaccine transport monitoring at scale .

• Actively participate in existing technical working group meetings to represent Nexleaf and contribute to cold chain data discussions
• Work with a Data Analyst to address issues with missing data and data quality and ensure data is usable by ministry
• Solicit end-user feedback on data use to inform data use-cases and the design and development of innovative dashboard and analytics
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to generate lean data-driven reports and think pieces that motivate stakeholders to improve their impact and decision-making
• Champion Growth and Impact
• Partner with the Vaccine Team to inform program growth strategies, with a focus on ensuring country perspectives and needs are at the center of program discussions
