Amani Orphans Home - Mbigili (AOHM) is a Non-governmental Organization registered under NGO Act of 2002. with its registration number O4NGO/1494. AOHM was established in the year 2007 under thejoint venture between Tanzania Board of trustees and the German board of donors.

JOB DETAILS:

The Amani Orphans Home Mbigili consists of the three departments. The first is the Children's Department, which currently hosts 79 children in the orphans home and secondary schools. The second department is the Farm. adjacent to the orphanage.It provides nutritious food for the children. The third department is the Home-Based-Care Program, which supports more than 60 families outside the orphanage and gives over 90 children the chance to go to school, college, vocational training or university.

It is our goal that the children can grow up in a non-violent. loving and familiar environment. It is important to us that aside from providing access to education, (school. apprenticeship, access to university or realizing their own projects). we can support the children's talents and interests individually.

JOB PURPOSE
The Project Manager will be responsible for operation and timely implementation of various planned project Activities and fulfil the necessary management requirements. SheIHe reports to the Tanzanian Board of trustees.

QUALIFICATION / REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Community Development. Social Welfare Studies, Rural Development Planning, or equivalent:
  • Experience in Project Management is a precondition: working experience in community & children-based projects activities will be an advantage.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team, handle a variety of concurrent activities, rank priorities, organize work efficiently. and deliver assignments in a timely manner often under time constraints:
  • Excellent in communicating in English and Kiswahili and or German, both spoken and written.
  • Computer skills in MS Office and Internet are a MUST!

RESPONSIBILITIES AND D DUTlES
Project Management

  • Provide support in various aspects of project implementation in the Organization
  • Ensure implementation of planned activities in the organization
  • Ensure children social welfare
  • Manage day to day activities of the Organization
  • Manage and develop sustainable projects in the organization
  • Establish and Coordinate children social clubs
  • Develop and manage budget for the Organization
  • Maintain project calendar and milestones.
  • Ensure smooth communication of AOHM Board, German Board and all AOHM staff
  • Manage conflict between staff and all beneficiaries
  • Do fundraising

Planning and Implementation

  • Draft manageable plans with the teams of various units to support the implementation of the project in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of work plans and operation plans for various elements? components of the project on half yearly basis and an annual.
  • Monitor progress on regular basis and give suggestions to the management timely manner for corrective actions.

Monitoring, Documentation and Reporting

  • Ensure timely preparation of monthly progress updates.
  • Ensure that regular reports (monthly. quarterly and annual) as agreed with partners. donor, and German board deadlines.
  • Promote and undertake the documentation of good practices and synthesis of lessons learned. and ensure that these are reflected in improved training and management tools.
  • Obtaining and documenting success stories etc.
