JOB DETAILS:
Founded in 1956, The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities – in more than 40 countries around the world. DRC has been implementing emergency response projects in Tanzania since the onset of the Burundi refugee crisis in 2015 in three refugee camps in the Kigoma Region at the border with Burundi. DRC’s integrated projects for refugees, asylum seekers and host communities comprise sectors such as Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Protection (CBP, PSN, GBV, CP and Legal), Shelter and infrastructure, and Economic Recovery.
Overall purpose of the role:
Under the direct line management of the Integrated Protection Team Leader, the Integrated Case Management Officer is responsible for the provision of case management and psychosocial support to Persons with specific needs, particularly PWDs and elderly person.
Main Responsibilities:
• Identifying and screening all new PSN arrivals at Nyarugusu refugee camp.
• Conducting need assessment, of the new PSN when arriving at Nyarugusu refugee camp.
• In collaboration with IMO updating all new PSN arrivals cases in the database.
• Develop daily and weekly reports of the new PSN arrivals and submit them to the Integrated Protection Team Leader.
• Support the distribution of NFI items to the new PSN arrivals in the refugee camp.
• Conduct visitation and provide palliative counseling to the new PSN arrivals at reception/departure for those who are still waiting for shelter allocation in the camp.
• Providing linkage and referral services for new PSN arrivals to other agencies.
• Providing group awareness sessions and one-to-one sessions to the new arrivals about the rights and entitlements of the PSN while living in the camp.
• Participation in new influx coordination meetings in Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on issues related to the PSN sector, including UNHCR, MOHA, and other partner organizations
• Conducting daily palliative care and counseling services to new arrivals
• Providing information and guidance on the work done by the DRC-PSN unit to Persons with specific needs in the camp.
• Assist in the dissemination of inclusion Information to other partners operating in the refugee camp.
• Build relationships and communications with MoHA, UNHCR, and other partners ensuring engagement and support for the new PSN arrivals.
• Preparing and consolidating monthly reports of the new arrivals and submit to the Integrated Protection Team Leader.
• Facilitate and support different awareness sessions for the new arrivals in the camp.
• Perform other duties asigned by Integrated Protection Team Leader.
Programming & Operations
• Ensure efficient and effective program implementation while following the budget and work plan
• Participate in preparing monthly/quarterly/annual highlights/reports and proposals and budgets for donors
• Lead the team in carrying out monitoring and evaluation exercises
• Take initiative on procurement, working with Protection Coordinator and Protection Manager and Supply chain to ensure smooth procurement process and correct use of budget spending.
• Coordination and representation
• Collaborate with relevant internal and external technical experts on sector relevant issues
• Represent DRC at meetings and other relevant technical coordination meetings
• Ensure integration with other DRC sectors, such as Camp Coordination and Camp Management livelihoods, WASH, and General Food Distribution (GFD).
• Project development
• Asist in developing project plans and budgets for funding
• Develop projects tools
• Project implementation and reporting
• Monitor and evaluate projects.

Essential Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree relevant to humanitarian work: preferably in social sciences, Counselling, and guidance, public health, psychology, or humanitarian aid
• Significant knowledge of International Human Rights, Social work, Community development, Psychology, Guidance, and counselling or public Health.
• Experience working with persons with specific needs (PSN) such as PWDs and elderly people.
• Minimum 2 years of International experience implementing and developing Protection programs, counselling and guidance, and psychology in emergency and post-conflict environments.
• Experience in providing psychosocial support in humanitarian setting.
• Experience in Protection as well as Child Protection and GBV programming, Counselling and guidance, and psychology, specifically with direct experience in Protection Monitoring, Community Based Protection, Case Management, and Civil Society, psychosocial support.
• Computer literate with a strong command of MS, Excel Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in analysis of protection monitoring information and reporting.
• Experience in preparing an Integration protection programming planning and report.
• Experience in integrating protection with other sectors’ programming.
• Experience in information data management, utilizing databases and platforms.
• Good proficiency in written and spoken English, and Swahili
