About the Role
This is a full-time position based at WWF Tanzania, working closely together with the Regional Coordinator counterpart at WWF Germany, under the supervision of the WWF Tanzania Forest Coordinator.
The Regional coordinator in Tanzania is responsible for the coordination and management of the project implementation by the three country teams of the Bengo FLR project, and for the implementation of Output 4 in all three project countries.
The Regional Coordinator assumes full responsibility to support and guide all project staff in the three countries and all implementing partners in each country to achieve the project’s outcome and outputs, ensuring the project resources are used in an effective, efficient, accountable and consultative manner, according to WWF and BMZ donor regulations and within the project’s duration.
Furthermore, it is the Regional Coordinator’s responsibility to develop and maintain strong relations with all relevant stakeholders at the regional level and support stakeholder liaison at national and local level in support of the project’s implementation.
Required Qualifications and skills
Educational background: A minimum of a Master’s degree in Geography, Forestry, Natural Sciences, Economics, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management or Project management. At least 5 years working experience in managing projects, planning, monitoring and learning relating to forest landscape restoration initiatives and/or project cycle management. Experience in working with NGOs, civil society organizations and local communities. Specific work experience in the project regions in Tanzania, Kenya and Zambia. Ability to effectively coordinate and motivate project staff and maintain effective working relations both as a team member and team leader
