JOB DETAILS:
ACTIVITIES
Profile of role
• Knowledge of EACOP project, familiar with environmental context for the pipeline Right of Way
• Experience with other reinstatement activities of similar nature, preferable in East Africa
• Qualification – Graduate degree in botany or related field
• Understand Tanzania regulations requirements for park management and other regulatory and legal requirements

Preparation Activities
• Understand EACOP Critical Habitat Assessments (CHAs) including GIS mapping
• Have knowledge of the various habitats traversed by EACOP
• Experience with multi-disciplinary surveys (biology and social)

The main activities for this role will include:
• Verification of field data for natural and critical habitat
• Development of location specific reinstatement plans
• Establishment of reinstatement infrastructure (e.g., nurseries)
• Monitoring and evaluation of ongoing reinstatement activities

Accountabilities
• Represent EACOP as Reinstatement Coordinator in Tanzania
• Leading the development of a comprehensive reinstatement planning for areas of natural and critical habitat

Qualifications and Required Experience
Professional experience:
• Graduate degree in a botany or science related discipline.
• Minimum of 20 years’ experience with time spent supporting conservation projects.
• Knowledge of and experience with reinstatement requirements for large projects.

Technical competencies:
• Familiarity with IFC standard, CHAs and associated management plans and systems that support lender compliance

Behavioral competencies:
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural business setting and excellent interpersonal and communication skills essential. Fluent in English, (speaking, writing)
