Key Position Accountabilities
The job holder is responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following:
• Create a welcoming atmosphere for customers and promote the company’s key services in line with the promotions, store business plan and shop sales targets to ensure a consistent customer experience across all of the company’s shops
• Develop sales strategies that promote growth of the store and to report actions and results to line manager
• Effectively utilise all resources to maximise sales
• Ensure Merchandising, product displays and store layout are aligned with monthly promotion plans as supplied.
• Maintain correct ordering of stock to reflect customer demand and trading patterns
• Encourage the involvement of all team members in meeting store and business objectives which entails providing support and guidance to the retail team
• Delegate effectively to provide other staff with appropriate opportunities and to facilitate their learning and development
• Assist in the training of the team on new product knowledge to ensure that customers are given the best recommendation
• Practice high level of stock control and cash control in line with the company policies and procedures, training team members where appropriate and monitoring closely the goods that are received from third party suppliers
• Implement health and safety regulations in line with the company’s policies and procedure to ensure that customers and employees are provided with a safe working environment at all times
• Perform other duties as requested by the Line Manager
Skills Required
• Cash handling and banking experience
• Commercially aware with basic management finance experience
• Experience of managing a team
• An understanding of analysing and compiling statistical and narrative reports.
• Sound knowledge of order processing activities
• Experience of customer service and professional telephone skills
• Computer literate in excel
• Experience ideally within the liquor industry, or FMCG or leisure related areas
• WSET Foundation or Intermediate certificate
• Local taxation structures
