JOB DETAILS:

GENERAL AND SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
The general objective of the assignment is to oversee EMMAC activities and collaborate with all stakeholders and VSO staff and volunteers involved in the T-LED implementation to ensure access to finance given the provided target numbers. Specific objectives include the following:

• Assist CUSO Representative in Tanzania in overseeing EMMAC activities and providing monthly reports highlighting success rate, challenges and other measures as may be informed by Cuso International from time to time.
  
• Provide analytical support, whilst describing the potential risks and ways to mitigate such risks.
  
• Prepare mid reviews and final reports and work with and under instructions from Cuso Representative in Tanzania to take corrective actions to ensure EMMAC delivers successfully.
  
• Manage the agreed approach by EMMAC and oversee activities and deliverables
  
• Demand monthly progress reports from EMMAC and prepare reports to Cuso Representative in Tanzania.
  
• Let Cuso Representative in Tanzania stay fully informed of the access to finance component and overall progress made by EMMAC
  
• Liaise the working relationship of the three organizations, Cuso International, EMMAC and VSO to ensure complementarity efforts are vividly exercised in recruiting the right and required number of SMEs for access to finance work to effectively be implemented
  
• Search or do mapping of international approaches that can be applied by T-LED SMEs to have access to finance
  

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• At least 10 year-experience working in finance and related topics.
  
• Proven knowledge of SMEs development and access to finance, especially in the developing world.
  
• Proven experience in developing and writing credit appraisals and investment reports
  
• Knowledge of financial sector in Tanzania.
  
• Proven experience and expertise in addressing credit issues and where possible experience with credit and investment committees.
  
• Fluency in English and Swahili.
  
• Work experience in the East Africa region is a desirable asset
  The Consultant must be based in Tanzania.
  
• CPA or MBA or a Masters’ degree in related topics but with strong bachelor degree. Strong background in credit and investment processes may replace masters if strong first degree is in place.
