JOB DETAILS:
BESIX Ballast Nedam (BBN) Limited, the CONTRACTOR for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the Jetty and Load out Facilities in the Tanga Bay for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project, invites job application for r Scaffolder.

Purpose and scope of assignment
The main objective of the Scaffolders is to erect and dismantle temporary metal scaffolding on structure and construction sites, so that other people can work at height and carry out their jobs safely. Scaffolders sets scaffolding around a structure, or inside building undergoing construction, renovation or demolition.

Job responsibilities
• Erecting scaffolding poles.
• Unloading scaffolding equipment on-site.
• Ensuring a stable base for scaffolding.
• Fixing scaffolding to buildings or structures.
• Laying planks for workers to walk on.
• Fixing guard rails and safety netting.
• Creating different kinds of platforms, from simple scaffolding through to complex structures such as suspended scaffolding, cantilever drops and temporary roofs.
• Observing all safety rules and precautions.
• Any other task as directed by superiors.

Job qualification, experience and skills.
Applicant should possess the following.
• At least Secondary School Education with specialized training in scaffolds erecting.
• Training certificate from VETA is necessary.
• Previous experience from reputable construction companies is an added advantage.
• Physical fitness and must have the physical capacity to lift or position heavy loads.
• Well-developed communication and teamwork skills since tasks depends on team work.
• Concern for safety for avoiding and all foreseeable risks.
