JOB DETAILS:
The Fair Competition Commission is an independent Government Soddy established under the Fair Competition Act, 2003 (No. 8 of 2003) to promote and protect effective competition in trade and commerce and to protect consumer from unfair and misleading market conduct. "The ultimate goal of the Act is to increase efficiency in the production, distribution and supply of goods and services. The Fair Competition Commission {FCC} new invites Public Servants whose salaries are gained through Human Capital Management information System (HCMIS}
- ‘Lawson’ and wish to TRANSFER their employment service to FCC to submit their applications to fill the posts identified below:

SENIOR ADVOCACY OFFICER II - FCC/SAO II/01/2018 - 1 POST)

1) Reports to: Head of Advocacy

Direct entry qualifications

• Holder of Bachelor’s Degree and the fields of Economics Laws or related fields from any recognized university;
• Working experience of at least four years in relevant, field
• Possession of computer knowledge is an added advantage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducting studies of government policies, procedures and programmes, legislation and prepresses for legislation so as to ensure that government ok not have an adverse effect on competition;
• At the directives of the Head of Department presenting study findings on government policies , procedures and programmes, legislation and proposals for legislation to the Commission;
• Assisting the Head of Department in advising the Government, businesses and consumers on competition and consume: issues;
• Advising the Head of Department and steps to be taken to influence Government initiatives and proposals in a pro-competitive way;
• Conducting outreach programmes on competition policy and law among businesses, community and consumers;
• Ensuring that relevant guidelines are in place and adhered to;
• Daily reviews of media coverage for extracting public opinion on competition and consumer issues;
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department from time to time.

Thereafter the selected Public Servants will have to follow all necessary TRANSFER process according to Laws Governing Public Service.
