Job vacancy: Senior project lead MACP4

Job Summary
WWF Tanzania is seeking a highly experienced, competent, and motivated Senior Project Lead for a coastal and marine project supported by WWF US and the MACP Foundation. The candidate will oversee the coordination and implementation of the MACP project in the program area, contributing to WWF TCO’s Conservation Strategic Plan and WWF US’s Southwest Indian Ocean (SWIO) agenda.

Main Functions
• Lead the implementation of the project to achieve objectives and deliver project outputs/results.
• Oversee project budget management and work plans, ensuring funds are spent and accounted for efficiently, transparently, and meticulously.
• Manage and monitor the implementation of contracts with third-party service providers, with support from the Seascape Programme Lead.
• Advance the work of small-scale fisheries by promoting Community-Based Natural Resources Management (CBNRM) and User Rights Management systems.
• Maintain good relationships with project partners and relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector entities, and coastal communities, both within and outside the WWF network.
• Lead the production of project reports, including monthly technical snapshots, semi-annual and annual technical reports, and any other reports as required.
• Collaborate with the Programme Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in developing tools for data and information gathering, report writing, and preparing the project results framework and indicators.

Desired Skills
• Advanced degree in Natural Resources Management, Project Management, Marine and Coastal Management, Aquatic Science, or Fisheries Technology (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
• At least five years of relevant professional technical experience in habitat and coastal resource management, grant management, sustainable coastal livelihoods, micro-finance, community capacity-building and awareness, marine protected area management, marine species conservation, Environmental Social Safeguards (ESSF), and relevant monitoring and research skills.
• Project leadership experience, including budget oversight; skills in team building, project planning and coordination, monitoring and evaluation, partner relationship development, and staff management.
• Strong understanding and sensitivity towards the culture and livelihoods of rural coastal communities, with technical proficiency in working with government and other partners.
